My Sense of Place

In the early spring of 1997 I was awarded a one month residency at the Rockefeller Foundation Bellagio site. During this time I sketched and made colour studies and photographs. This triptych recals my sense of displacement in the Bellagio setting, and the time of quietude in which I did not so much as produce work, but was in a more pre-generative state, open to the thinking, imagining, and reading I was doing at that time.

Installation with three components: backlit cibachrome (24 X 24″X 5.5″), small framed c-print (appr 9 X 7″), wall text, overall dimensions variable.
